Karthikeyan is a Chennai based artist whose art practice started from the traditional chariot wood carvings and temple stone carvings. He was deeply invested in the medium itself and experimented with it for years.

Inspired by the nature around him, his more recent painting works depicts flowers, leaves, fruits and birds among the women and men he portrays. He has participated in various art camps over the past decade and his paintings have been showcased in several exhibitions across India and Singapore.

Anahita Taunk has been a friend for the past 40 years and I have seen Shayal since she was a toddler. I had always admired Anahita’s elegant aesthetics and her innate artistic eye. Anasha Art was a success right off the block with dual creative energy behind them. When my son and daughter-in-law bought their new home in Los Angeles, I wanted to gift them a painting that would reflect India but also compliment their California home. A brief conversation with Anahita and the result was a beautiful Sagare in a blue palette that was a perfect fit! Next, I saw a Sagare in yellow palette on Anasha website and it was love at first sight. My wife and I saw Mr JMS Mani’s paintings at her BFF’s place and fell in love with his work. And what does this BFF do? She has two Mani’s commissioned through Anasha Art for our 50th birthdays! They are absolutely stunning. They bring warmth and colour to our living room! Our friend said the credit all goes to Anahita and Shayal.
