Dr. Pardeep Singh is a visual artist and painter with formal training in Fine Arts from Visva-Bharati University. His academic journey includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Fine Arts, and a Doctorate in Visual Arts. His professional practice has been presented through solo and group exhibitions, national workshops, and art events across India and internationally. Driven by a deep affinity for nature, he views the outdoors as a site for immersion, experience, and ultimate absorption. In his paintings, he captures the atmosphere, mood, and raw energy of the environments he travels through, embodying their spirit and serene aura. The images and forms on the canvas are direct emotional responses to the flora, fauna, pines, roads, mountains, canyons, and rivers encountered on his journeys, tapping into the emotional gravity, pulse, and subconscious memories of these physical spaces. He intentionally works on a large scale to immerse the viewer, confronting them with the immensity and sublimity of nature. Standing before these large canvases, one can feel the vitality of nature and sense a virtual life pulsing within the work. “Working primarily in oil, I approach each canvas without preconceptions or set rules. My subconscious guides the beginning of a piece at any point across a ten-foot-wide surface. I believe in the process of making—a journey where the artwork itself demands specific forms and dictates my next move. This process involves navigating shifting variables, constantly relinquishing and regaining image clarity until the painting resolves itself. The resulting work is both a physical and emotional experience, rendered through expressive, gestural marks that capture the force of vast landscapes.”
